Posting the maps from these CD's is a large project, and will take time to complete.  I have opted to go ahead and get the maps posted, instead of trying to index them as I go.  I'm looking for help with this.

What we need ...

We need a listing of surnames that appear in each section of each township map.  If we can list the surnames that appear in each section, the results will show up in the search engine - making the maps much easier to use.

What you can do ...

If you can send me a listing of surnames broken down by section.  This can be in an ordinary e-mail - NO special software required.  For example:

1870 Huckleberry Township

Section 1 ... SMITH, GENTRY, LOGAN, BARLOW, GERBER, GREEN

Section 2 ... AMES, JONES, ARMSTRONG, MATTOX

Section 3 ... BURCH, BYERS, ANDERSON, MITCHELL, BURNS

If you can help ...

If you can help, pick a particular township and e-mail me to let me know that you'd like to volunteer to pull the names from each section.   You can do a single township, or several for a given year.  It would be nice if you can complete the transcription within 3 weeks - but it is a volunteer project, there will be no set deadline.  I'm hoping to post at least 4-6 new townships each week - so there will be new opportunities to help with each new set of maps posted.  There are over 100 sets of maps that have to be posted -- so I really need help with this one!
